A Change of Direction

Well, it's time for me to make a change in direction, with this blog anyway.

I feel like this blog has become a blog only about my GREAT family and a lot less on my life. So lets mix it up a bit!

All these huge changes that I had coming in 2007 have come and I have survived! Whew! So now it's time to get back to blogging about what I do and what I love.

So although I'll still talk about my perfect family ;-) I'll be throwing in a lot more about another love in my life, my running.

As most of you know, from The Extra Mile Podcast, my running has been not so good until recently. I've struggled to keep up with my time goals and my mileage. But that is changing!

The air is crisp now, and my running is starting to keep up! It there anything that makes a runner happier than to step outside for a run and smell that "Fall" smell? I can smell the leaves, the apples, the cool air, and.....

OHIO STATE FOOTBALL!!!

So even though it's only mid-September, I am officially starting my fall right now!!!!!

OMG!! Mid-September? It's like 4-6 weeks till "The Phedippidations World Wide Half Marathon and "Kick the Couch" 5K road race!

I have NO idea if I'll be ready for this or not, but who cares!!!! I'll do it and have a blast!

My long run has been just (did I say JUST?) 10 miles and I have to tell you, I wasn't a pretty sight at mile 9! So I figure I can drag myself another 3 miles to the finish line. We shall see. But I still have 5-6 weeks to train, and that's really a lot of time to add 3 miles to a long run.

So there you have it, my change in direction.

Oh yea.. one last thing... other that Chris, are you all listening to The Extra Mile Podcast? It's really quite fun and if you are training. I really think you will enjoy the company on your long runs. If not, there is of course a money back guarantee!

Peace

Kevin, firstable congratulations for your beautiful baby.

Second, how come are not going to be ready with the numbers you have for training?

I know that we always want to get better, but you are already doing good with the discipline on your training.

take care

Blog away, my friend!

I have been pondering the Worldwide Half, with regards to which race I will do. I can do one of the following:

run around my town, like last year

run a half three hours from home

run a half far away and make a vacation out of it

Decisions, decisions!!

I think that all of us ponder the PWWH.

I should confirm my course and start training on it.

I should run my long runs a lot faster.

I should a, could a, would a...

It'll come together!

What is the Extra Mile podcast again?

I have been listening to the EM Podcast, and it is great! Maritza and I are going to get together and send in a message soon, I promise!

I just decided to sign up for a local Half marathon for the PWWH and do it as a Marathon Goal Pace run, rather than just calling my regular long run the PWWH. :)

You are already at 10 miles, you can totally do it! Keep up the good work Kevin.

Kevin,
I love your attitude about the running. I'm thinking the same for the half. I don't feel at all prepared this time, but I'm going to have fun, even if I have to crawl the last few.

Congratulations on the little one! There is nothing else that will change your direction quite like that, but in such a positive way.
